Catalog for the first Hungarian art exhibition in Tallinn containing overview of Hungarian artistic life in the 19th and beginning of 20th centuries, alphabetically arranged list of artists and their exhibited works, 7 full-page artworks reproductions, enclosed price sheet.


In exhibition participated 90 artists with 136 works. The exhibition provides a cross-section of 19th and early 20th century Hungarian art development (the eldest participant was born in 1810), introduces representatives of different movements and schools of art from romantic landscapes to realistic portraits. Also were exhibited 26 works of 18 sculptors, these are mainly realist genre sculptures of modern masters.


Among the artists influenced by romanticism were: Barabas Miklos, Lotz Karoly, Szekely Bertalan, Benczur Gyula, Munkacsy Mihaly, Paal Laszlo, Meszoly Geza etc. Participated artists of modern realist era: Szinyei Merse Pal, Karlovszky Bertalan, Deak-Ebner Lajos, Baditz Otto, Rudnay Gyula, Szule Peter etc. Sculptors on display: Telcs Ede, Hiesz Gera, Ligeti Miklos, Horvay Janos, Sidlo Ferenc, Strobl Ajalos and others.
