Scarce and valuable catalog for the Lithuanian art exhibition which was held during World War II under the Nazi occupation in Lithuania. Included list of 241 presented works by 68 artists. These consisted of paintings, wood and lino engravings, etching, sculpture, ceramic. Among the distinguished exhibitors were Antanas Gudaitis, Adomas Galdikas, Jonas Kuzminskis, Leonardas Kazokas, Jonas Sileika, Rimtas Kalpokas, Algirdas Petrulis, Adolfas Valeska, Adalbertas Staneika, Jonas Buracas, Jonas Kuzminskis etc. Catalog contains 32 full-paged amazing artworks reproductions. Beautiful illustrated wrappers designed in folk style by famous Latvian artist Adolfas Vaicaitis.

Present exhibition was organized by the Lithuanian Artists' Association, which functioning allowed German civil authorities. Two branches of the Association, based in two largest cities of Kaunas and Vilnius, coordinated the artistic activities, organized art exhibitions and provided members of the Association with financial support. Exhibitions promoted artistic activities and also provided the German authorities with an opportunity of supervising the contents and style of art works. Left-wing artists and the ones of non-Lithuanian origin (Poles and Jews) were excluded from the public artistic life. Lithuanian artists avoided confrontation to the war time reality in their art and preferred the wait-and-see position. They did not participate in the cultural resistance and did not try to create propaganda art. The occupation experiences reflected only in individual works and only in hidden, allegorical or symbolic form.
