The debut poetry collection by Lech Piwowar was published under the “Biblioteka "Dwutygodnika Literackiego” series with print run of 300 copies only. 26 poems indicate radical leftist avant-garde, where poet's inspiration moves from the pessimism to the optimistic revolutionary rebellious mood. Two-color typography composition on the front cover by graphic artist Zygmunt Kinastowski (1904-1966).


Lech Jozef Piwowar (1909-1940) poet, journalist and literary critic associated with the Krakow's leftist literary avant-garde. Was preoccupied with modernizing forms of artistic expression in poetry. Member of Awangarda Krakowska (Kraków Avant-garde) literary group, member of Artistic and Literary Circle "Litart", also member of Academic Artistic Club and Krakow Writers' Club. Co-authored political farces for Krakow avant-garde theatre "Cricot". Was killed in Katyn during the World War II.
