Little is known about David Veniaminovič Barlen (about 1895-1950s; used a pen name Ibn-Ali-Bei). He was eminent Russian anthroposophst (anthroposophy – type of occult philosophical movement founded by the 19th century esotericist Rudolf Steiner), professor, prosewriter. Since the end of 1920s lived in Paris, where lectured at problems of anthroposophy for Russian public. Current book published under Russian publishing house in Paris includes four short stories about mystery and occultism (black magic). Modernst cover design created by author.
